The Carolina Panthers have confirmed the signing of free agent tight end Ed Dickson, with the player agreeing terms on a one-year deal with the club.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said that it was good to bring in the young and hungry Dickson, but also believes that he will add experience to the team's offense.
"Ed is a young player who has shown he is a capable blocker as well as receiver in the league," Rivera told the club's official website.
"He provides experienced depth at the tight end position, and we look forward to having him in the mix."
Dickson has spent all four years of his NFL career to date with the Baltimore Ravens.
