Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has revealed that quarterback Cam Newton is recovering well after sustaining a minor ankle injury in his side's win over New Orleans Saints.
Newton went into the game suffering from a toe injury and then damaged his ankle, but Rivera feels that it is nothing to worry about and he should be fit to face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
"It was tweaked, and he feels pretty good today," Rivera told the Charlotte Observer. "He came in and got some pretty good treatment today. He rolled it and he's out here walking around."
The Panthers can secure the number two seed with a win over the Falcons in their week 17 clash.
