New Orleans Saints overpower Carolina Panthers

The New Orleans Saints record their 10th win of the NFL season by beating the Carolina Panthers 31-13 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The New Orleans Saints have recorded their 10th win of the NFL season by comfortably beating the Carolina Panthers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Two Graham Gano field goals put the Panthers 6-0 ahead at the end of the first quarter.

However, the hosts stormed back, with Drew Brees providing the ammunition for Marques Colston and Jimmy Graham, who scored two touchdowns each.

Garrett Hartley added a 19-yard field goal for New Orleans, before Cam Newton fed Steve Smith for a fourth-quarter touchdown to give the scoreline a more respectable look from a Carolina perspective.

The Saints have now all but secured their place in the NFL playoffs.
