The Cincinnati Bengals have confirmed that defensive tackle Geno Atkins has sustained a torn ACL and will likely miss the rest of the season.
The incident occurred in the second quarter of the Bengals' defeat to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday when the All-Pro went down following a collision.
Atkins underwent an MRI earlier on Friday and it revealed he had indeed torn his ligament and as a result will miss the rest of their campaign.
The 25-year-old had registered six sacks this season.
