Cleveland Browns sign Alex Tanney from Dallas Cowboys practice squad

The Cleveland Browns sign quarterback Alex Tanney from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad after Jason Campbell sustains a concussion.

The Cleveland Browns have signed quarterback Alex Tanney from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.

The AFC North side lost Brian Hoyer to a season-ending knee injury earlier this year, while current starter Jason Campbell is suffering from a concussion, leaving Brandon Weeden as the only healthy quarterback on the team's roster.

The 26-year-old joined the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent last year, but spent his rookie season on injured reserve before joining the Cowboys this off-season.

The Browns face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
