Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine has emerged as the frontrunner for the Cleveland Browns head coaching job.
The Browns' search for a new boss has been a drawn-out saga, with almost a month now passing since Rob Chudzinski was relieved from his duties.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed via his personal Twitter account: "Cleveland's HC search down to two finalists who will meet with Browns' brass Thursday, per league sources. Bills DC Mike Pettine a favourite."
Pettine is just the latest in a string of potential candidates linked for the role, with franchise owner Jimmy Haslam urging patience from the supporters last week.
