The Dallas Cowboys have gained sole control of the NFC East courtesy of a 17-3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
A first half littered with penalties, particularly against the Cowboys, contained just one score as Dan Bailey kicked a 38-yard field goal late in the second quarter to give Dallas a 3-0 lead at the halfway stage.
The first touchdown of the match came not long after half time, however, as Phillip Tanner burrowed his way over the line amidst a mass of bodies.
The Eagles finally got themselves on the scoreboard at the start of the fourth quarter when Alex Henery slotted a 31-yard field goal to reduce the deficit to seven points.
It was not enough, however, and Dallas sealed the win with 9:28 left of the final quarter when Tony Romo's quick nine-yard pass found Terrance Williams at the front of the end zone.
