Denver Broncos interim head coach Jack Del Rio has expressed his hope that wide receiver Wes Welker will be fit for Sunday's match against the New England Patriots.
Welker has been unable to take part in full practice so far this week having suffered concussion during last weekend's 27-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 32-year-old should be able to resume as normal today, however, and Del Rio revealed that it was just a matter of waiting to see if Welker had fully recovered in time.
"I just hope for the best, let the doctors and trainers do their thing in terms of time frame whenever he can get back," Del Rio told reporters.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning also sat out practice on Wednesday but is expected to play on Sunday.
