Denver Broncos general manager John Elway has revealed that he is frustrated with wide receiver Demaryius Thomas for missing the team's off-season programme.
The Broncos designated Thomas as their franchise player in March, and he has since insisted that he would work out in Georgia on an individual basis to prepare for the new season.
However, Elway doesn't see the sense behind the move, and insists that it would be better for all concerned if Thomas had attended.
"To be dead honest with you - I see absolutely zero value with him being away from here. Zero value, for him," Elway said, ESPN reports.
"There's no value for him not to be here with his teammates, so as far as negotiations and him and a new deal and what's going on, we'd like to get something done, but by him being away from here, there is zero value not only to us, but to him. To me it makes no sense."
Elway reiterated that Thomas's decision to stay away has no effect on contract talks, as ultimately the franchise want to sign him to an extension.
