Half-Time Report: David Johnson puts Arizona Cardinals in control

David Johnson scores two rushing touchdowns as the Arizona Cardinals lead comfortably against the Detroit Lions.

Two touchdowns from rookie running-back David Johnson have helped to give Arizona Cardinals a 28-7 lead against the Detroit Lions.

The Lions had given away possession on their first two drives, with Matthew Stafford's pass for Theo Riddick being intercepted by Rashad Johnson before Josh Mauro fumbled, but neither mistake resulted in a score.

Instead, it was Detroit who took the lead when Stafford threw long to Corey Fuller before finding Riddick in the endzone on the following play.

Arizona responded at the start of the second quarter as Carson Palmer picked out Darren Fells for a 14-yard touchdown pass to level the scores.

With just over 11 minutes left in the half at Ford Field, Stafford was picked off again as his short pass fell into the grasp of Cory Redding, who almost hurdled the quarterback before being stopped just short of the endzone.

That play set up Johnson for a short touchdown run from four yards as Arizona took the lead at Ford Field.

Before the two-minute warning, the Cards moved further clear as a long pass to John Brown helped set up another close-range TD run for Johnson as the visitors took a 21-7 lead.

However, Arizona would add a fourth touchdown before the interval as Palmer again found Brown moments later.
