Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston has announced that he will apply for entry into the 2015 NFL Draft.
Winston has lost just one match as FSU's starting signal-caller, going down 59-20 in last weekend's Rose Bowl defeat to the Oregon Ducks.
Despite stating after the game that he was not thinking about moving to the pros, he appears to have reversed his decision and will now be available for selection at the end of April.
The 21-year-old said via a statement: "After weighing this decision with my family and friends, I have decided to declare for the 2015 NFL draft and forgo my remaining eligibility at Florida State.
"I reached this very difficult decision after careful consideration and long thought, realizing how difficult it would be to say goodbye to my family at Florida State.
"I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to wear the garnet and gold and have greatly enjoyed my time as a Seminole, both as an athlete and a student in the classroom."
Although Winston won the 2013 Heisman Trophy, his off-field character has come under scrutiny, with some NFL analysts suggesting that his personal life could be a potential red flag for any interested teams.
Winston threw for 7,984 yards, 65 touchdowns and 28 interceptions in his two years with the Seminoles.
