Greg Jennings says that advice from retired quarterback Brett Favre helped him decide to join the Minnesota Vikings.

Greg Jennings has admitted that Brett Favre helped him decide to sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings last week.

The former Green Bay Packers wide receiver sought advice from the retired quarterback, who also made the switch from the Packers to their NFC North rivals.

The 29-year-old told KFAN-AM: "I spoke with Brett two or three times throughout this process. He shot me straight.

"I knew if there was one person that would shoot straight and tell me exactly what I wanted to hear and things I possibly didn't want to hear, it would be Brett. He did that for me."

Jennings agreed to a five-year contract with the Vikings worth $47.5m (£31.4m).
