Mike McCarthy: 'This could be Aaron Rodgers's best year'

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy believes that this season could be quarterback Aaron Rodgers's best yet for the team.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has expressed his belief that quarterback Aaron Rodgers could have his best season yet this year.

Rodgers threw 24 of 29 for 285 yards and two touchdowns as the Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 44-31 to record a fourth consecutive win this season, despite being without a number of their usual receivers.

Randall Cobb, James Jones and Jermichael Finley were all absent for the match through injury, and McCarthy believes that that makes Rodgers's performance even more impressive.

"I think this is really shaping up to be one of Aaron's best years," McCarthy told the Associated Press.

"Aaron's had a lot of challenges Monday through Saturday that don't show up on the stat sheet, just trying to get on the same page with younger players and trusting the game plan."

The Packers currently sit top of the NFC North and will face divisional rivals the Chicago Bears next Monday.
