Aaron Rodgers throws five touchdown passes, while Randall Cobb scores a hat-trick as the Green Bay Packers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 38-28 in their NFL clash.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw five touchdown passes, while Randall Cobb scored a hat-trick as the Green Bay Packers side defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 38-28 in their third-round NFL clash.

The Packers made an impressive start to the match, as Rodgers found rookie Ty Montgomery for his first NFL touchdown, before Mason Crosby added the extra point.

Green Bay doubled their lead with 2:18 remaining in the first quarter, as Rodgers found Cobb for his first touchdown of the night, which Crosby converted for a 14-0 lead.

The Chiefs responded well in the second quarter, and scored their first points of the match as Jamaal Charles ran in nine yards for a touchdown, before Cairo Santos added the extra point.

The hosts moved further ahead before half time as Crosby succeeded with a 44-yard field goal, before Rodgers found James Jones for a 26-yard touchdown, which was converted for a 24-7 lead.

After the break Rodgers found Cobb for his second touchdown of the match, which Crosby converted.

Kansas City responded with 56 seconds of the third quarter remaining, as quarterback Alex Smith found Jeremy Maclin for the Chiefs' first touchdown scored by a wide receiver for over 1,350 minutes of regular season game time. Santos converted to cut the deficit to 17 points.

The Packers scored a fifth touchdown early in the final quarter, as Rodgers found Cobb for the wide receiver's hat-trick, before Crosby added the extra point.

Charles scored his second touchdown of the game with 9:56 remaining, before Smith found Travis Kelce on the left of the endzone for a two-point conversion, as the Chiefs cut the Packers' lead to 16 points.

The Chiefs closed down their opponents further with 1:25 remaining, as Charles ran in for a hat-trick. Kansas City attempted another two-point conversion, but failed to add the extra points as Smith's throw missed his teammates in the endzone.
