A local journalist who covers the Houston Texans has said that he would not be surprised if the team fired head coach Gary Kubiak this week.
The Texans are currently on a nine-game losing stretch - a franchise record - with Sunday's defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars the latest blotch on their copybook.
Houston Chronicle journalist John McClain wrote on Twitter: "This was the worst game I've seen in a long, long time. I'll be stunned if Bob McNair doesn't fire Gary Kubiak.
"I won't be surprised if McNair tells Kubiak on Monday. This is another low point for the franchise. Lowest of the lows.
"Ben Tate called the loss to Jags "embarrassing." Duane Brown apologized to the city of Houston. Antonio Smith said it was stressful. Kubiak says he feels bad for players and organisation."
Defeat on Sunday leaves the Texans languishing in third spot in the AFC South, with their playoffs hopes over and Kubiak's position hanging in the balance.
