Rick Smith: 'Arian Foster will be fit for 2014 season'

Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith is confident that All-Pro running back Arian Foster will be back at full fitness for the start of the 2014 season.

Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith has revealed that he is confident that running back Arian Foster will be back at full fitness for the start of the 2014 season.

The 27-year-old struggled throughout the 2013 season with injury before a back problem finally ended his campaign, but Smith has revealed that the All-Pro is working hard to get back to full health.

"He's doing well, he's working hard," Smith told the Houston Chronicle. "He's in the building (at Reliant Stadium) and in the training room consistently.

"All the reports that I'm getting from [head trainer] Geoff [Kaplan] indicate to me that he's going to be fine."

Foster had 121 carries for 542 yards in his eight games for the Texans last season.
