Ryan Succop fired the Titans into the lead on the first possession of the game when he made his kick from 35 yards, but the Texans rallied to take the lead at the start of the second quarter as Brian Hoyer looped the ball to the back of the endzone for DeAndre Hopkins to finish a 21-yard touchdown.

Bishop Sankey fumbled the ball from the resulting kickoff to hand the Texans good field position to attack the Titans once again, and they were able to extend their advantage when Nick Novak sent a field goal through the posts from 38 yards.

The Titans continued to struggle at the start of the third quarter as Zach Mettenberger was sacked for a seven-yard loss by Whitney Mercilus, ending their opening possession of the half.

However, Mettenberger managed to move his side into field-goal range on their next possession and Succop brought his side within four points with his kick from 44 yards.

The Texans put the game beyond the reach of the visitors when Hoyer faked the handoff to Alfred Blue and launched a pass deep for Nate Washington to make the grab in the endzone for a 42-yard score.

JJ Watt ensured that his side would secure the victory when he sacked Mettenberger forcing him into a fumble, which set up a score for Novak and he kicked a field goal from 24 yards to seal the win.

The result leaves the Texans 3-5 in their season, while Ken Whisenhunt's men drop to 1-6 in the AFC South.
