Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis has been ruled out for the season due to injury, according to a report.
The 33-year-old was banned for the first four games of the season by the NFL for violating its policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
However, while working out on his own in Atlanta in preparation for returning to the field, Mathis has torn his Achilles tendon and will now miss the entire 2014 campaign, reports ProFootballTalk.com.
Mathis led the NFL in sacks last season, recording 19.5 takedowns.
