Kansas City Chiefs OC Doug Pederson: 'We're planning to be more aggressive'

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson reveals that his side are preparing to become a more aggressive team on offense for the 2015 season.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson has outlined his desire to see his side become more aggressive on offense in the 2015 season.

The AFC West side had just four passing plays over 35 yards, which ranked them last in the NFL, and have been widely regarded as one of the more conservative offensive teams in the league.

However, Pederson believes that his side are in position to change the perception in the 2015 season due to the work of quarterback Alex Smith and his teammates in the off-season.

He told reporters: "We've got to sort of retrain, rethink just a little bit. But going from that first year to where we are now with [Smith], now he sees that kind of stuff. It's just a matter of cutting loose.

"I like where Alex is. But now in the spring, we want to see any quarterback shoot the ball down the field and at least test it. That gives him the comfort level the next time he's in that situation."

The Chiefs ranked 25th in the NFL in total offense in the 2014 season.
