The Dolphins took the lead on their first drive of the game as Ryan Tannehill moved his side down the field before Jarvis Landry took the handoff on a fake throw and took the endaround to run 22 yards for the touchdown.
Tennessee responded as Marcus Mariota completed a series of passes to move his side into field-goal range and Ryan Succop powered his kick through the posts from 37 yards.
Miami restored their seven-point advantage when Tannehill moved his side into the redzone once again, but this time the Titans' defense made a crucial stop to force them into a field goal. Andrew Franks was able to kick a 30-yarder between the posts.
The AFC East side extended their lead in the second quarter when Lamar Miller got the handoff and he plowed his way through the line to find the endzone with a seven-yard touchdown run.
