British-born running back Jay Ajayi has been selected by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.

Ajayi, who averaged 5.6 rushing yards over three years with Boise State, was tipped by many to be a higher pick a few months ago, but concerns about a knee problem saw him slide down the list.

However, the Dolphins elected to pick the 21-year-old with the 149th overall pick on Saturday, and he will now be bidding to earn a contract in Florida.

Ajayi was born in London, but moved to the USA with his family as a youngster. He played for Frisco Liberty High School before enrolling at Boise State.
