Mike Sherman: 'Ryan Tannehill has confidence in himself'

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman says that quarterback Ryan Tannehill has shown confidence and belief so far this season.

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman has praised the impact of Ryan Tannehill so far this season in the NFL.

The quarterback completed 236 passing yards and two touchdown passes during the team's 27-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons at the weekend.

Sherman told the team's official website: "I think it's one of many hurdles he has to clear to be that quarterback. I understand Ryan has confidence in himself, and I think the fact he's demonstrated, I don't think he had any doubt in his mind what he was able to do.

"He never has. That's the strength of Ryan Tannehill. That's the belief he's always had in himself. Regardless of the consequences or the circumstances, he's always believed in himself.

"I think what has happened is, I think the belief system now becomes a little more contagious. Other guys say if we are in this situation again, we've done this before and we can do it again. We've been here before."

The Dolphins, who face the New Orleans Saints on Monday, are unbeaten so far this campaign.
