Miami Dolphins come from behind to defeat Philadelphia Eagles

The Miami Dolphins stage a comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles to end a run of back-to-back defeats in the NFL.

The Miami Dolphins erased a 13-point deficit to record a 20-19 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in their NFL clash at Lincoln Financial Field this evening.

Despite taking the lead through Andrew Franks on their first possession, the Dolphins were put on the back foot when Sam Bradford found Josh Huff in the endzone for a two-yard score.

The Eagles extended their lead when the Dolphins conceded their third safety in as many matches as Walter Thurmond brought down Ryan Tannehill in the endzone.

From the resulting punt, Philadelphia recorded their second touchdown of the match when Bradford guided his side to the goalline, where he handed the ball off to Ryan Mathews, who powered in for the score.

Franks notched his second field goal of the game when he held his composure from 22 yards following a defensive stand from the home side.

The Dolphins reduced the deficit to three points following a blocked punt as Zach Vigil charged through the line to make the play. Tannehill ensured that his side capitalised on the situation as he found Lamar Miller, who ran in for a 13-yard touchdown.

Neither side were able to add to the scoreline in the third quarter as both defenses took control of the match.

Miami forged ahead of the first time in the match early in the fourth in fortuitous circumstances when Tannehill's pass hit the head of Connor Barwin and landed in the grasp of Jarvis Landry in the endzone.

Caleb Sturgis nailed a 37-yard field goal to bring the home side to within a point, but the Eagles lost starting quarterback Bradford to a shoulder injury, forcing backup Mark Sanchez into action.

Sanchez drove his side to the redzone in an attempt to take the lead, but his pass was intercepted by Reshad Jones in the endzone.

However, the Eagles' defense gave him one final chance to win the game for the NFC East outfit, but the Dolphins held the home side in check to secure the comeback win.

The Dolphins move to 4-5 in their season, while the Eagles drop to 4-5.
