The Miami Dolphins have released wide receiver Brian Hartline and he will now hope to find a new team in free agency with the market opening on March 10.
The Dolphins opted to cut the wideout as they continue to move under the salary cap ahead of the start of free agency.
The 28-year-old signed a new five-year deal in 2013, but his role diminished last season with the emergence of Jarvis Landry.
Hartline caught just 39 passes for 474 yards and two touchdowns, and it was decided by the Dolphins that his production did not match his salary.
The former Miami star had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2012 and 2013, but will now expect to find a new team ahead of the new campaign.
