Cornerback Cortland Finnegan has been released by the Miami Dolphins after just one season with the AFC East outfit.
The 31-year-old signed a two-year deal with Joe Philbin's side last year following his release by the St Louis Rams, and was expected to play a starting role opposite Brent Grimes in the Dolphins' defense.
However, Finnegan struggled immensely in his time on the field with the club as he failed to record an interception in his 12 games in the campaign.
As a result, the Dolphins have cut him from their squad, which saves them up to $5.8m (£3.7m) in cap space for the 2015 season.
Finnegan revealed that he was considering retiring from the NFL late last year.
