Adrian Peterson avoids Lisfranc injury

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson reveals that he has avoided sustaining a Lisfranc injury after going down in his side's defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has revealed that he has not suffered a Lisranc injury that would rule him out for the season.

Peterson went down in the third quarter of his side's defeat to the Baltimore Ravens clutching his leg and was taken off the field.

However, initial tests confirmed that he had avoided a major injury, although the 28-year-old will undergo further examinations.

"Initially you don't know exactly what's going on when you're feeling it," Peterson told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "That initial contact definitely didn't feel good.

"I was kind of worried. But kind of cleared up a little bit after getting the MRI. I'll see how things play out after the CT scan."

Peterson has rushed for 1,221 yards this season, a year after almost breaking the NFL record with 2,097 yards.
