Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave has admitted that tight end John Carlson is a good option to have in the roster.

Musgrave said that Carlson had been down the pecking order last season and the start of this, but thinks that his impressive performance against the Washington Redkins earlier in the season showed what he can do.

"He's a great option for us," Musgrave told the club's official website. "His speed, he's got that burst. The play he made against the Redskins on that Thursday night for a touchdown was amazing.

"He made a play out here yesterday on the practice field when we were going against our own defense in the red area that was very impressive. He's just got good movement skills and the quarterbacks really trust him."

Carlson joined the Vikings from the Seattle Seahawks last season.
