New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick believes that the NFL should look into comments made by New York Jets owner Woody Johnson regarding Darrelle Revis.
Johnson revealed that he would "love" to have the 29-year-old back at the club, despite the All-Pro being under contract for another season with the Patriots.
The Jets owner's comments could be construed as 'tampering' under NFL rules, but he has since admitted that he "should not have" made those remarks, and has called Patriots owner Robert Kraft to clarify the situation.
However, Belichick feels that the league could investigate Johnson's comments under the 'tampering' rule.
He told WEEI: "I would think that the league would look into those comments. I'm sure that's something that they would look into."
Belichick famously resigned as head coach of the Jets after just one day in charge in 2000.
