Aaron Dobson inactive for football reasons

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick denies that Aaron Dobson has been dropped due to reasons other than football-related matters.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has insisted that receiver Aaron Dobson is inactive due to football reasons after missing the last two weeks.

It was reported on Thursday that the receiver had "mouthed off" to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, but Belichick suggested that was not the reason behind the decision to deactivate Dobson.

"Well, we're going to make the best decisions that we can make very week, try to activate the players that we think give us the best chance to win," Belichick told the media at a press conference.

"Same thing we do on every game. This game's no different than that. So that's what we do."

Belichick added that he would be making a comment at some stage regarding the alleged altercation between McDaniels and Dobson, but he was more concerned with preparing his team for the weekend.
