Julian Edelman has trust in Bill Belichick

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman insists that he trusts Bill Belichick to get the club back to the playoffs, despite the loss of several key players.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has insisted that he has trust in head coach Bill Belichick, despite losing several key players from their Super Bowl winning roster.

Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner, Vince Wilfork and Shane Vereen have all left the Patriots after lifting the Vince Lombardi trophy last month.

However, Edelman is confident that Belichick will make the necessary moves to get the club back into the playoffs next season to defend their title.

"It's a tough part of the year because it happens every year and you have friends that go to another place, or you have teammates that it doesn't work out with," Edelman said on the Rich Eisen Show.

"Everyone has to deal with it, so it's kind of one of those things where you wish them luck, but coach always has a plan and he is always going to do what is best for the team.

"He reminds us he's been doing it for 30, 40 years now. Whatever coach does, you know he is always going to do what is best for the team. He always has a plan; I trust what he's doing."

Edelman recorded 92 receptions for 972 yards and four touchdowns in the 2014 season.
