Logan Mankins traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Logan Mankins swaps New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in trade deal which sends Tim Wright in the opposite direction.

The New England Patriots have traded guard Logan Mankins to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in return for tight end Tim Wright and a future Draft pick.

Mankins, 32, has spent his entire nine-year career in the league with the Patriots and has been widely considered to be their most consistent lineman in front of quarterback Tom Brady.

The six-time Pro Bowler signed a six-year contract with New England in 2011 and was their first-round Draft selection in 2005.

24-year-old Wright, meanwhile, signed for the Buccaneers in April 2013 as an undrafted free agent.
