Bob McNair: 'Robert Kraft was right to accept sanctions'

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair feels that Robert Kraft made the right decision to not appeal the sanctions meted to the New England Patriots for the deflategate scandal.

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair believes that Robert Kraft did the right thing by the NFL not to appeal the sanctions meted to the New England Patriots in the deflategate scandal.

The Patriots were docked their first-round pick in the 2016 Draft and a fourth-round selection in 2017 along with a $1m ($641,000) fine.

Despite staunchly denying the claims of the report into the incident, Kraft has reluctantly accepted the sanctions to move on from the matter.

"I think that's indicative of what Robert tries to do," McNair told reporters. "He thinks about the league, and I think that's the smart thing to do, so I'm pleased."

Quarterback Tom Brady will still appeal his four-match suspension.
