New England Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis has revealed that he and his teammates were fired up for their game against the Miami Dolphins following their comments after their victory earlier in the season.
Joe Philbin's side recorded a 33-20 triumph over the Patriots in the first game of the campaign, which Revis believes brought boastful comments from the Dolphins over who was the dominant team in the AFC East.
However, Bill Belichick's men secured their sixth division title in a row as they hammered the Dolphins 41-13 at Gillette Stadium to book their place in the post-season.
"There was a lot of talk, those guys were chirping. The Miami Dolphins were chirping this week about [how] they should have beaten us by 50 and all of those type of things the first game," Revis told reporters.
"If that's what they want to do, then that's what they want to do. The one thing you have to understand is you get a second stab at it because we're in the same [division]. You might need to watch what you say."
Revis has recorded 43 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble for the Patriots this season.
