New England Patriots rescue dramatic late win

The New England Patriots score two touchdowns in little more than a minute at the end of the fourth quarter to steal a 27-26 win against the Cleveland Browns.

A quiet first half saw the scorers rarely troubled, with Billy Cundiff kicking the only points with two field goals from 43 yards and 37 yards.

Cleveland got the first touchdown of the match early in the third quarter when Gary Barnidge collected Jason Campbell's short pass before running into the endzone for a 40-yard score.

The visitors opted to go for a two-point conversion, but Chris Ogbonnaya's running attempt was unsuccessful to keep it at 12-0.

The Patriots finally got on the scoreboard late in the third quarter when Stephen Gostkowski hit a 33-yard field goal, but the Browns responded with another touchdown when Josh Gordon raced away from the defense for an 80-yard score.

The hosts got their first touchdown of the match with just nine seconds left in the third quarter as Shane Vereen danced his way through the defense for a six-yard score, before Tom Brady successfully found Julian Edelman in the endzone for the two-point conversion.

Gostkowski added another field goal midway through the final quarter, but Cleveland looked to have sealed the win when Jordan Cameron collected a four-yard pass from Campbell for a touchdown with just 2:43 left on the clock.

However, the Patriots pulled it back to 26-21 when Brady's two-yard pass found Edelmann and finally got what proved to be the winning score with just 35 seconds left as Danny Amendola caught another short Brady pass.

The win means that the Patriots are now 10-3 for the season and remain unbeaten at home in the current campaign.
