New England Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis has admitted that the chance to win the Super Bowl was the reason why he joined the club last year.
The 29-year-old was not short of suitors following his release by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2013, but soon penned a two-year deal with Bill Belichick's men despite his past association with the club's bitter rivals the New York Jets.
Revis secured the first Vince Lombardi Trophy win of his career as the Patriots edged out the Seahawks 28-24 in the University of Phoenix Stadium.
He told reporters: "Oh yeah. This was the talk from day one.
"This is the reason why I came to this organisation and having the conversation with Mr [Robert] Kraft and Bill in the off-season. To get to this game and win it."
Revis was named an All-Pro for the fourth time in his career following his exploits in the 2014 season.
