New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton has revealed that he intends to use running back CJ Spiller as a return specialist this season.
The 27-year-old joined the Black and Gold from the Buffalo Bills in the off-season, and Payton has been impressed with what he has seen in training.
He told The Times-Picayune: "He's definitely a return guy that we view [can contribute], whether it's punts or kickoffs. He has experience at that.
"He's explosive. He's a versatile player and we're going to look to get him the ball in a number of ways, and a returner is certainly one of those ways."
Spiller failed to score a touchdown in nine appearances last season.
