The Philadelphia Eagles kicked a field goal at the end of the second quarter to take a narrow 17-16 lead over the New York Giants in the final week of the regular season in the NFL.
The home side got off the mark early on when Andre Williams burst into the endzone from just a yard out after a strong start by the Giants offense.
The Eagles hit back on the next drive though as LeSean McCoy sprinted deep into New York territory before Jordan Matthews hauled in a 44-yard touchdown pass from Mark Sanchez.
Philadelphia moved ahead when Brent Celek broke free from his defender to collect a short pass from Sanchez on the edge of the endzone before the end of the first quarter.
Eli Manning looked for Larry Donnell to level the scores, but the tight end could not hold on the ball, leaving the home side to add three points through kicker Josh Brown.
A Sanchez interception prevented the Eagles from extending their lead again, allowing Brown to kick the Giants ahead shortly before the end of the half.
However, the Eagles quarterback managed to get his side back downfield in the final seconds of the second quarter, leaving Cody Parkey to kick to visitors back in front.
