New York Jets' Rex Ryan refuses to answer quarterback questions

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan refuses to answer questions over who will be his side's starting quarterback in week one in a bizarre press conference.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan staged a bizarre press conference as he refused to answer questions regarding who will be his side's starting quarterback next season.

Mark Sanchez injured himself in the Jets' victory over the New York Giants in their pre-season clash while 2013 second round draft pick Geno Smith struggled in the game throwing three interceptions.

When asked about which quarterback will start the season, Ryan snapped at a reporter.

"I can say anything I want," he said. "That's the beauty of this country.

"I'll stand backwards and answer the question. I'm going sideways. We'll make the announcement when I think it's the appropriate time."

The Jets open their regular season campaign against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
