New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has admitted that he was delighted to earn a win on his NFL debut.

Rex Ryan's side scored a last second field goal to secure an 18-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at MetLife Stadium.

Smith told reporters: "It's good to get a win for the Jets. It's not about me. It's about my teammates and this organisation. So it's good to get a win for the Jets.

"But we've got to put this one behind us and get prepared for a tough game coming up on Thursday night.

"I had some ups and downs, but like i said, it's not about me. It's about the team and as a team, we won the game. Not all of them are going to be pretty."

The Jets face the New England Patriots on Thursday.
