Lawrence Okoye impresses scouts at Super Regional Combine

British discus record-holder Lawrence Okoye has impressed NFL scouts with his performance at the NFL Super Regional Combine this weekend.

The 21-year-old secured a place at the event in Texas after taking part in the Atlanta combine last month.

NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt said: "He was unbelievably active and incredibly explosive in drills. It was a real first-class show."

The former rugby player tweeted: "Thanks for all your messages! I've had a fun, yet tiring weekend in Dallas."

Okoye, who has never played American Football before, claims to have gained interest from five NFL teams, who view him as a defensive end.
