Peyton Manning was intercepted in the Oakland Raiders endzone by veteran Charles Woodson as the Denver Broncos trail 7-3 at half time.
Broncos quarterback Manning was forced into a three-and-out on his opening drive, but the Raiders failed to capitalise when a long drive ended in a blocked field goal from the boot of Sebastian Janikowski.
Brandon McManus would not make the same mistake at the start of the second quarter when his 25-yard field goal was successful, giving the visitors the lead in California.
That lead was quickly relinquished after Derek Carr's short pass found Marcel Reece in the corner of the endzone as Oakland went ahead.
Manning found his form before half time with a 41-yard pass to Bennie Fowler to kick-start a late Broncos drive.
However, the former Colts QB was picked off when in a good scoring position as Woodson reached out in the endzone to keep the Raiders ahead.
