The Oakland Raiders have announced that rookie cornerback DJ Hayden has been placed on their injured reserve list, ending his campaign.
Hayden suffered a groin problem prior to the Raiders' week 10 loss to the New York Giants, capping off a disappointing first year for the first-round Draft pick.
The 12th overall pick recorded 29 tackles, two passes defended, one interception and one forced fumble in his eight appearances this season, having made two starts.
The highlight of Hayden's year was a fourth-quarter interception of a Philip Rivers pass in the end zone, which helped the Raiders to a 27-17 win over the San Diego Chargers in week five.
