Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has admitted that he knows his ACL injury this season could threaten a future contract with his side and other teams in the NFL.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the Eagles' training camp costing him the entire 2013 campaign, the last of his rookie deal after being drafted in the first round in 2009.
"I understand it could be a possibility that [the ACL tear] may scare some teams off, or a team may want to do a one-year deal as opposed to a long-term contract," Maclin told CSNPhilly.com. "That's the game, that's the business."
Maclin has caught 26 touchdowns from 256 receptions in his five seasons in the NFL.
