The San Diego Chargers have headed into half time with a 13-3 lead over the Buffalo Bills following an early touchdown from Eddie Royal.
Fresh from their win over Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks, the Chargers made a bright start to the game as Philip Rivers connected with Royal for a first-quarter touchdown.
There was an injury blow for the AFC West side later in the opening quarter though, as running back Danny Woodhead was forced out of the game with an ankle injury.
Nick Novak extended San Diego's lead with a field goal in the second quarter after Rivers failed to find Royal for a second time.
EJ Manuel tried to find Sammy Watkins with a pass to the corner of the endzone shortly before half time, but the rookie wide receiver could not hold on to the ball.
