San Diego Chargers punter Mike Scifres will reportedly undergo surgery after breaking his clavicle in his side's defeat to the New England Patriots.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of the clash at Qualcomm Stadium when Scifres fell awkwardly on his shoulder after seeing his punt blocked by Brandon Bolden.
The 34-year-old was carted off the field and kicker Nick Novak had to assume punting duties for the rest of the game. The surgery could potentially end his season, reports ESPN.
Scifres has been with the Chargers since he was selected by the club in the fifth round of the 2003 Draft.
