San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman has undergone successful surgery to repair his torn ACL, according to a report.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury in his side's NFC championship defeat to the Seattle Seahawks over two weeks ago, when he tore his ACL and MCL breaking up a pass to Seahawks receiver Jermaine Kearse.
Time was needed for the MCL injury to heal naturally, after which he underwent an operation to amend the ACL tear. The surgery was a success and will give him a chance to make a recovery for the start of the 2014 season, reports ProFootballTalk.com.
Bowman had 145 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions in the 2013 regular season and was also voted as an All-Pro.
