It wasn't until the second quarter that the scores were broken by the Seahawks, with placekicker Steven Hauschka producing a field goal from 27 yards out.
The Panthers then struck back later in the second quarter through Steve Smith.
He completed a three-yard pass from Cam Newton for the touchdown, with Graham Gano stepping up to complete proceedings and leave the scores at 7-3 heading into the break.
