Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has hailed the performance of quarterback Russell Wilson in his side's divisional-round playoff win over the Carolina Panthers.
Wilson threw three touchdowns, all of which were on third down, to fire his side to a 31-17 victory in a tight contest against Ron Rivera's men at CenturyLink Field as the Seahawks kept their hopes of retaining their Super Bowl title alive.
"I was really fired up for Russell tonight," Carroll told reporters. "He had a great night on third down.
"He must have hit almost everything. Dude, I think he had three third-down touchdown passes, which is unheard of. How does that ever happen? He did a great job."
The Seahawks will face either the Green Bay Packers or the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC championship game next week.
