Half-Time Report: Detroit Lions leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Lions leading Buccaneers

The Detroit Lions have headed into half time with a 17-10 lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field this evening.

After failing to make the most of their opening drive, the Lions opened the scoring when Calvin Johnson outreached his marker to haul in a pass from Matthew Stafford.

Rookie kicker Patrick Murray got the Buccaneers off the mark at the start of the second quarter, kicking a 54-yard field goal for the NFC South side.

Josh McCown tried to find Mike Evans to put Tampa Bay ahead, but the rookie receiver could not hold on, giving Glover Quin the interception.

The Lions made the most of the turnover, sending Joique Bell over for the home side's second touchdown of the evening.

The visitors did manage to reduce the deficit before the break though, as McCown connected with Evans at the second time of asking, leaving the Buccaneers just seven points behind.
