Good morning and welcome to the live commentary of the NFL clash between the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts.

Both sides will be looking for a win tonight after both succumbed to defeat at the weekend. Just two games separate these teams at the top of the AFC South, with playoff places on the line.

The Titans became the first team this season to lose to Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday and matters got even worse for Mike Munchak's side when quarterback Jake Locker was ruled out for the season with a Lisfranc injury.

Tennessee do have a capable backup in Ryan Fitzpatrick, who almost guided his side to a comeback over the Jags but he couldn't quite pull it off. However, he has started two games this season but couldn't register a victory in either game against the Kansas City Chiefs or the Seattle Seahawks.

One area where the Titans will hope to have success in this game is on the ground, where they have been very inconsistent this season. Running back Chris Johnson has struggled mightily for the past three seasons after registering a 2000-yard rushing season in 2009. He needs to find his form again if the 4-5 Titans are to have a chance of reaching the playoffs.

Defensively, the Titans don't have many superstars in their ranks. They have a decent defensive line featuring Pro Bowl calibre players such as Kamerion Wimbley and Derrick Morgan. Colin McCarthy leads a good group of young players in the linebacking crops while Alterraun Verner is having a fantastic season at cornerback with a league-leading five interceptions. There are playmakers in the team for Munchak and they will need to be at their best against a good quarterback in Andrew Luck tonight.

Speaking of Luck, he probably had the worst game of his fledgling career against the St Louis Rams on Sunday in his side's 38-8 defeat. He threw three interceptions in some crucial moments of the game and really wasn't himself.

The Colts have been without wide receiver Reggie Wayne, which has affected Luck slightly, as he has lost his go-to man on third down. One of the other Colts' receivers will have to step up as Wayne is not returning this year. TY Hilton has picked up some of the slack but he can't do it all on his own.

Trent Richardson also may need to buck up his ideas as he has struggled since the Colts traded their 2013 first-round pick for him earlier in the year. He hasn't been able to get anything going on the ground at all as he has amassed just 250 yards off 88 carries, at an average of 2.8 yard a rush this season. That is not good enough from the former third overall pick.

Defensively, bar last week's shambles, the Colts have generally been good. Leading the way has been defensive end Robert Mathis who has 13.5 sacks this season, leading the NFL. Linebacker Jerrell Freeman has also been impressive all over the field and cornerback Vontae Davis has flashed at times but he along with the other members of the secondary had a game to forget against Tavon Austin and the Rams. They will want to return to form quickly and a game against Fitzpatrick, who has been known to turn the ball over, could be just what they need.

TITANS INACTIVES: Williams, Campbell, Fokou, Schwenke, Gooden, Edwards, Otto

COLTS INACTIVES: Rogers, Howell, Gordy, Toler, Sheppard, Holmes, Hughes

The Titans are without offensive lineman Brian Schwenke due to injury, after he started the last three games. Meanwhile linebacker Moise Fouko is also out.

McAfee kicks off and the Titans will start at their own 20.

Fitzpatrick bounces back from taking a sack on first down with two completions to his tight end Walker to move the chains, first with an out route 10 yards and then a crossing route over the middle of the field for 12.

A big third down conversion for the Titans on third down and nine. Fitzpatrick takes the snap in shotgun and he drills the ball to Wright over the middle of the field for 17 yards for another set of downs starting at the Colts' 41.

Another throw over the middle of the field and Wright moves the chains again for an 11-yard strike from Fitzpatrick beating the zone coverage. It's been too easy for the Titans so far.

TOUCHDOWN TITANS!

The Titans take the lead as the running back Johnson powers into the endzone on his second carry if the night with a 30-yard run. It was a power play and the left guard Levitre pulled over to the right and crashed into a linebacker to open a hole for Johnson to run into and once he found the space he sprinted away from every defender and in for the score.

Reed returns the kickoff to the 25 where Luck will begin.

The Colts go three and out as Luck's pass to Whalen on third down falls incomplete after they could only pick up four yards on second with a short pass to Fleener. Richardson got the handoff on first and ran into a wall for no gain. Not a great start for Chuck Pagano's side and McAfee's punt is collected by Wylie and taken to the Titans' 32 before he's brought down.

Johnson gets the handoff on first and churns out nine yards on a similar play to his touchdown and then comes back on second down to move the chains with a hard run up the middle for six more yards.

Fitzpatrick delivers again on third down and seven, as he collects the ball in the shotgun and under pressure he fires a strike over the right-hand side of the field to Walker on an out route for 14 yards.

Another chain mover from Fitzpatrick and Johnson as the quarterback fires over the middle of the field for Walker again for seven yards and then the back comes in on second with a three-yard carry. Good offense so far from the Titans.

Johnson moves his side into the redzone with a five-yard carry over the right-hand side. The play was meant to go through the middle but there was no space so the back bounced the ball outside with his pace to evade the two cornerbacks on the edge. Titans have the ball Colts' 15.

TOUCHDOWN TITANS!

Johnson gets the handoff again after churning out another eight yards on first and he powers into the endzone through several tackles over the left-hand side of the line to get in for the seven-yard score.

The Colts bad start gets a little bit worse as the kickoff from Bironas bounces short of the endzone and Reed is slow to make a decision. He eventually decides to pick it up and the two-yard line but he's brought down at the four.

The Colts get some breathing space as Luck takes a risk dropping back into his own endzone and he somehow gets the ball away lobbing it over on-rushing lineman but Richardson collects and takes the ball 14 yards for the first down and moves his side to their 19.

Luck gets another much need first down for the Colts as he slides to his left in the pocket away from the rush and fires the ball to Hilton for a 17-yard gain on a third and five situation. A crucial moment there for the visitors.

Brown gets the handoff on the ground and moves the chains with carries of nine yards and then another four on second to move the Colts to the Tennessee 46.

Brown gets one more carry and gets three yards on the ground, which will leave the Colts with a second down and seven at the Titans 41 at the start of the second quarter.

END OF FIRST QUARTER: Indianapolis Colts 0-14 Tennessee Titans

Scratch that previous comment, as the Colts have won a challenge that the Titans had too many men on the field at the last snap. It will be first down and five at the Titans' 41.

The Colts move the chains as Luck gets a crucial yard on third down and one after Brown was stacked up for a one-yard gain on second. Luck is moving his side downfield and they are now at the Titans' 36.

Indy's drive comes to and end as Luck is forced out of the pocket on third and eight and he runs for the first down but he is dropped just short of the marker that leave Vinatieri with a 48-yard field goal.

FIELD GOAL GOOD!

Vinatieri boots his effort through the post as his kick slides in at the last second to get his side on the board.

Wylie returns the ball to the 20 where Fitzpatrick will begin again.

The Titans can't convert on third and one after getting nine yards on first and second on the ground through Greene, they go to an empty backfield on third and Fitzpatrick's pass to Wright falls incomplete. Kern slices his punt and it goes out at the Colts' 46.

Brown gets the handoff from Luck and he powers over the right-hand side of the field for a 15-yard gain to move his side to the Titans' 39.

The Colts can't go any further as Luck throws three incompletions under pressure. On first he should do better to find Hilton but his pass hits the ground with the receiver open. Verner makes a good play to stop the completion on second but on third the Titans bring the heat and force the hurried pass over the middle which hits the deck. McAfee's punt is downed at the one but the officials rule that Sergio Brown was in the endzone when he made contact so the ball will be placed at the 20.

Johnson gets the chains moving for the Titans as he powers through the middle of the line for four yards after Wright got eight on second down with a good move on Freeman to churn out the yardage on an out pattern.

The Titans get a huge break on third down as Fitzpatrick's pass falls incomplete but the Colts get flagged for roughing the passer with a hit to the head, as Mathis charged into the quarterback. That gives them 15 yards and another set of downs at the Colts' 46.

Another penalty on the Colts as this time Vaughn is flagged for unnecessary roughness on Hunter for a 15-yard penalty that moves the Titans to the 25.

For the third play in a row there's a penalty on the Colts as Walden is guilty of a personal foul that moves the Titans to the 13 with another 15-yard gift. Walden is very lucky not to be ejected after headbutting Walker who was without his helmet.

The Titans can't convert the numerous penalties into a touchdown s Fitzpatrick is forced to scramble on third down and four but he can't get the yardage he needs and goes out of bounds short of the first down marker at the Colts' seven, leaving Bironas with a 25-yard field goal.

FIELD GOAL GOOD!

Bironas makes kick with ease and hands his side a 14-point lead again.

Luck will start at the 20 as Bironas's kick is downed in the endzone by Reed.

Luck gets his side moving immediately as he fires a pass over the middle of the field to Saunders for an 11-yard gain to move his side to their 31.

The Colts move the chains just before the two-minute warning as they get a break as McCourty is flagged for pass interference on Hilton that will move the Colts to their 40 and they will receive another set of downs.

Luck draws the pass rush onto him and then throws a screen pass to Brown who evades several tackles to get the first down and move his side 14 yards downfield to the Titans' 46.

The Colts move again as Luck fires downfield to Heyward-Bey on a crossing route and he beats the coverage to get 10 yards to keep the chains moving.

The Colts move to the 15 as Luck gets time to sit in the pocket and drives the ball to Fleener down the middle of the field on a curl route, which is good for a 16-yard gain and moves them into striking distance.

SACK! The Titans come up with a huge play on third and five on their nine-yard line as Morgan beats Cherilus and brings down Luck by his feet for a three-yard loss. That forces Vinatieri into a 30-yard field goal attempt.

FIELD GOAL GOOD!

Vinatieri boots his effort through the posts and makes it an 11-point game at the break.

HALF-TIME: Indianapolis Colts 6-17 Tennessee Titans

The Titans lead by 11 at the break but it could have been more due to the Colts poor performance so far. Munchak's side will be disappointed that a lack of efficiency on a couple of drives have cost them points. But on the positive side of things, Johnson has run extremely well for them and Fitzpatrick has looked good throwing the ball, while their defense has given up just the six points.

That half of football was a disaster from the Colts point of view. They couldn't stop the run in the first quarter and paid for it as they conceded two touchdowns. Elsewhere Luck has struggled with the passing game but he started to find some success with Brown at the end of the half, which may bode well after the break. One worry for Pagano will be his side's lack of discipline as they gave away three consecutive penalties, which gave the Titans three points. They will have to clamp down on those errors to get back into this game.

That first-round draft pick for Richardson isn't looking any better in this game either for the Colts. As he has carried the ball for just one yard on one carry in the first half while Brown has 29 yards on four. He needs to improve if he wants to stay on the field.

On the opposite side of the field Johnson has 80 yards on 13 carries for two touchdowns, which is just what the Titans wanted from their All Pro running back. They'll want more from him after the break.

Luck will start at the 26 as Reed returns the ball 27 yards on the kickoff.

Luck fires downfield on first down and finds his tight end Fleener over the middle of the field for a 16-yard gain before he's brought down at the Colts' 42.

Luck moves the chains with his feet this time as he scrambles out of the pocket as he sees a hole in the rushing lanes and manages to get the first down with a 13-yard pick up.

Hilton gets the ball on a crossing route to get the first down this time moving his side to the 25 with a seven-yard reception after Richardson churned out eight yards on first and second down.

Another chain mover from Luck on third down after Fleener got five on second as the quarterback drills the ball over the middle of the field to Whalen for a seven-yard gain moving his side to the 13.

TOUCHDOWN COLTS!

The Colts get a score back to make it a four-point game as Luck hands the ball off to Brown on the six-yard line and he sprints over the left-hand side of the line behind blocks from Castonzo and Satele to get in for the score.

FUMBLE!

Wylie runs into his own teammate on the kickoff and he drops the ball, Herron jumps on it and gathers for the Colts at the 20.

TOUCHDOWN COLTS!

The Colts take the lead as Luck runs into the endzone himself after faking a pass to the outside for Whalen and he sprints through a couple of tackles for the 11-yard score, to give his side the lead after the error from the Titans.

Wylie returns the ball again for the Titans and this time doesn't fumble and gets to the 25 where Fitzpatrick will start.

SACK! Walden brings down Fitzpatrick for a four-yard loss on third down to force the Titans into a three and out. Kern punts the ball away and his kick is collected by Hilton at the 26 and he takes it 16 yards to the 42.

The Colts move the chains to start the drive as they get a favourable call from the officials on a quarterback sneak from Luck, which gets the yard they need on third and one, after the quarterback fired to Hilton for seven yards on second to set up the play.

Luck drills as pass to Fleener on second down and eight on a hitch route as the tight end turned immediately at the sticks to catch the ball and quarterback zipped the ball to him.

The Colts can't go any further as Luck's pass to Whalen on third down on a fade route goes out of bounds to the right sideline and that will leave Vinatieri with a 50 yarder.

FIELD GOAL GOOD!

Vinatieri drills his effort through the posts from 50 yards and it just has enough legs to clear the crossbar. A good solid kick from the veteran.

McAfee's kick goes out of bounds before it reaches the endzone and that will give the Titans possession at the 40.

The Titans get their first, first down of the quarter as Johnson runs for eight yards on first and second before Fitzpatrick fires the ball into Wright on a hitch route on third to get another set of downs with a three-yard completion.

END OF THIRD QUARTER: Indianapolis Colts 23-17 Tennessee Titans

Fitzpatrick gets his side moving immediately as he gets the snap in the shotgun and drills the ball to Wright over the middle of the field for a 10-yard gain.

Fitzpatrick comes up big on third down and nine just like in the first quarter as Walker comes across on a crossing route and the quarterback fires the ball to him and he gets the first down and a whole lot more to move his side to the 20 for an 18-yard reception.

A penalty costs the Titans as they get set back to first and 20 following a holding call against Spencer. Wright gets 10 yards of it back on second but on third he drops the ball forcing Bironas into a 38-yard field goal attempt.

FIELD GOAL GOOD!

Bironas kicks his effort between the posts and brings his side within three points.

Brazill returns the ball to the 21 where Luck will begin.

Luck fakes the handoff to Brown and fires to Fleener who peels off the line on a tight end screen, and he has the entire field out in front on him and he manages to get over midfield for a 39-yard gain.

The Colts can't extend their drive as Luck throws two incompletions on second looking for Hilton on a go route and third for the same player on an out route, that forces McAfee to punt and his kick is downed at the nine-yard line.

Fitzpatrick drills the ball to Washington on a hitch route who catches the ball for nine yards but beats a tackle and manages to eek out an extra yard to earn the first down at the 20.

Washington drops a pass on second down which would have been enough for a conversion but Butler manages to put him under enough pressure to break up the play and on third Fitzpatrick finds Wright but only for nine yards. Kern punts to the 27.

Brown springs into life for his team as he powers through the middle of the line and moves them to midfield with a 17-yard run to move the chains. A great run from the back.

Browns churns out nine more yards with a surging run on first down through the line, he gets stuffed on second but on third Luck hands off to his full back Havili, who gets a tough three yards to move the chains at the Titans 38.

Luck fakes the handoff to Richardon and fires the ball to Fleener on a play-action pass over the middle of the field and he runs to the 25 with a 13-yard reception before he gets knocked out of bounds.

The Titans and Ayers get penalised 11 yards for a late hit on Luck after he handed the ball off. That moves the Colts to the 10-yard line.

TOUCHDOWN COLTS!

Luck hands the ball off to Brown and he powers through the middle of the line behind a block and he goes into the endzone untouched for the 11-yard score, to give his side a 10-point lead with just three minutes left.

McAfee's kick goes out of the endzone so Fitzpatrick will start at the 20.

Fitzpatrick runs the ball himself as he finds a hole in the middle of the line and manages to rip off a 15-yard gain to move his side to their own 39 and he gets out of bounds to stop the clock.

Fitzpatrick fires a bomb downfield for Washington and he catches the ball down the seam in stride but stumbles slightly and is stopped at the 20 for a 42-yard reception by Landry.

TOUCHDOWN TITANS!

Fitzpatrick fires deep to Walker on a clearout route deep and he hauls the ball in uncontested for the 19-yard touchdown. Can the Titans get back into this game?

The Titans try and onside kick but Angerer gathers the ball with ease and with no timeouts left for home side that should be the game.

Luck kneels out to secure the comeback win for his side.

FULL-TIME: Indianapolis Colts 30-27 Tennessee Titans

The Colts manage to pull off a great comeback victory to take a major stride towards the playoffs as they go three games clear of the Titans in the AFC South.

That three game cushion should see Pagano's side in the post-season for the second straight year. It's hard to see how the Titans can come back at them this last in the campaign especially without their starting quarterback.

The Titans lost this game themselves as they failed to stand up to the challenge the Colts laid out for them in the second half and they committed a costly turnover from the kickoff which allowed Luck and his offense to take the lead and they never looked back.

That should be the Titans season over and done with as it's hard to see them challenging for a Wild Card spot, which may require a 9-7 record, meaning they would have to end the season 5-1 from this point onwards.

Thanks for joining our commentary this morning. We'll be back with all the action from the NFL on Sunday. Until then, goodbye.
